Rubber Roses Bleed

You had raised me above all the clouds,
You made me feel all proud.
Somehow I let you down,
Somehow I made you frown.

Now I feel the night during the day,
I hear every word she has to say.
I feel incomplete inside,
Now there's so much I need to hide.

The memories won't go.
Tell me, how was I to know?
How was I to know Life would start playing such an off-beat tune?
How was I to know the baby would die so soon?
How was I to know the sun was trying to kill the moon?

How was I to know you were singing me lullabies,
Just to shake me, wake me up and say goodbye?
How was I to know I shouldn't have been so sure?
How was I to know you would walk out that door?

They say it happens all the time.
What was once mine, now belongs to another.
The Red Rose was actually Rubber.
It didn't wilt away,
It was disposed off before I found something to say.

Bitter.Bitter.Bitter.
That's the taste left in my mouth.
Bitter.Bitter.Bitter.
I need to scream and shout.
Bitter.Bitter.Bitter.
Now I run from the sweet.
Bitter.Bitter.Bitter.
How it makes me weak.
Bitter.Bitter.Bitter.
Bits of sunshine, some rain
And lots of pain
Are all that remain.
Bitter.Bitter.Bitter.
